What a Shower Remodel Looks Like When It's Built Right

Most people only see the finished shower. The polished tile, the clean grout lines, the fixtures. What they don't see is everything that had to go right before a single tile went up. That's exactly where we are on this build - and honestly, this is the part that matters most.

Here's what we were working with: a full shower enclosure being built from scratch. Before the large-format marble-look porcelain tiles go up for good, we're making sure the waterproofing system underneath is done properly. You can see the waterproof membrane material running along the base and corners - that's not optional, that's the foundation of a shower that won't fail in a few years.

The tile itself is a big, beautiful slab-style porcelain with a natural stone veining pattern. Getting large tiles like this to sit flat and align correctly takes patience and the right technique. We use leveling spacers to keep every tile perfectly even as the adhesive cures. No lippage, no uneven edges. Just clean, consistent lines from top to bottom.
